Mobile food unit means a food and beverage service establishment that is a vehicle-mounted unit, either motorized or trailered, and readily movable, without disassembly, for transport to another location for vending.

Current Mobile Food Unit (MFU) Licenses will expire on April 30, 2026.

• To use a paper application, set up a meeting with our team or request a paper form by emailing licenses@rochestermn.gov.

Upon licensure, Mobile Food Units are eligible to serve within the downtown area. However, an additional permit is required for this operation.

Mobile Food Units that include any cooking operations that produce grease-laden vapors or smoke will require a permit and inspection by the Rochester Fire Department.
