Special Event Licenses
Special Events
- All events in the city such as road races, Peace Plaza events, and festivals, require a Special Event Permit issued by the City Clerkâs Office. If the event involves parking meters or road closures, they are also required to apply for an Obstruction Permit. The Obstruction Permit cannot be issued until the Special Event permit is approved.
- If an event requires electricity from our Third Street Ramp, there will be a $250 per event charge that will be collected by the parking vendor, Reef Parking.
Special Events include:
- Amplified sound is to be used.
- A street, sidewalk, or other public way or place is closed for the benefit of the event attendees.
- A temporary alcoholic beverage license is required, or an existing on-sale alcoholic beverage license is carried to the event location as part of a community festival.
- The event will adversely impact a considerable number of members of the public.
Rochester Code of Ordinances Chapter 8-11 applies to permits for special events in the City of Rochester.
