How to contest a Parking Citation

If you wish to contest a parking citation because you believe it was issued in error,  you may request an administrative review via the citation portal.

To contest a parking citation, visit: Citation Portal

No refunds are issued for a parking ticket that is paid and a contest form is filled out thereafter.

If an Administrative citation review determines an error was made in issuing a citation, any late fees will be waived and the ticket may be dismissed.

Should the Administrative review be denied, any fines or late fees accrued will still be due. Submitting a request for review does not stop late fees from accruing, and those fees are added beginning 10 days after a citation is issued.

If your citation has been sent to collections:

Payment for delinquent citations (past 45 days) is made to the collection agency IPS Group, Inc.

Note that once in collections, the City no longer holds that account and is unable to process payments or contestations.

For more information on citations in collections read this article of December 2024: Change in state law leads to past-due parking tickets being sent to collections.
