Emergency Management Resources

These Emergency Management resources are available for training and/or exercising for establishments (business, faith organization, school etc.):

Emergency Management recommends all organizations have a thorough emergency action plan in place that is suited to their facility and people. EM further recommends that organizations regularly (a) train their employees/staff on the actions they should take, and (b) assure that they know how to communicate those actions to anyone else at their location. If an organization would like to hold a complex drill at their facility, EM may be able to assist in the planning and execution of the exercise. Contact bknapp@rochestermn.gov to discuss this possibility.

To access support developing/updating/reviewing your emergency plans from the City Emergency Management department:

Emergency Management is available to discuss any emergency action plans that organizations in the City would like to review. EM can provide input and answer questions related to plans for large expanding incidents, as well as for basic Police, Fire, and EMS response to your facility. You may request a plans review by emailing bknapp@rochestermn.gov.

To apply for weather support for your event:

Weather support for local events can be arranged free of charge from the National Weather Service. The support MUST be requested by Rochester Emergency Management, however. National Weather Service (NWS) weather support is designed for those events that are particularly vulnerable to weather due to the location, size, or nature of the event. You may request weather support by emailing bknapp@rochestermn.gov.
