Attention Tenants--New Minnesota Cold Weather Rule
Category:
Community Development
The new law Minnesota Cold Weather Rule (CWR) requires landlords to maintain a minimum temperature of 68 degrees in residential units from October 1 through April 30. This regulation ensures that tenants have a warm living environment during the colder months.
To register a complaint a tenant must first alert their landlord so the problem can be addressed.
If after 24 hours, call 507-328-2311 to report. The concern will be assigned to an inspector to investigate. This includes a possible inspection and consulting with the property manager for resolution.
