Have you ever wondered what you should do with unused or expired prescription drugs?

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office has a permanent Prescription Drug Collection Box at the Olmsted County Government Center in Rochester, Minnesota. The collection box is located in the vestibule of the Adult Detention Center and is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Prescription drugs can be dangerous. Properly disposing of unused or expired prescriptions can help prevent drug abuse, protect children and pets, reduce avoidable poisonings, preserve the environment and protect your privacy. Please dispose of your unused and expired prescription drugs properly.

Please only place prescription drugs in the collection box. The following items should not be put into the collection box:

• Empty bottles
• Supplements
• Vitamins
• Any liquids
• Needles
