Link BRT

The Link project continues to advance, building on the major progress made last year which set the stage for an even more active season in 2026. the project remains on track for its first Link rides to begin in Fall 2027, bringing faster, fare-free and environmentally sustainable transit service to residents, employees and visitors along the corridor.

Construction will take place in phases along the corridor, starting with utility upgrades and moving into full roadway improvements. As work shifts from one area to another throughout the construction season, drivers can expect lane closures and, in some cases, temporary full closures. These timelines are coordinated with other downtown projects. While construction is underway, residents and businesses should anticipate periodic lane reductions and closures along 2nd Street SW and 3rd Avenue SE. Clear signage, advance notice and continued access to local properties will help keep everyone moving safely.
