RPTGO Microtransit Pilot Program

Say “Hello” to RPTGo: Rochester’s Microtransit Pilot Program

What is microtransit?

Microtransit is an on-demand service where you can book a shared ride when you need it. It operates in a set area and connects to specific transportation hubs. You can book a ride using an app or by phone. Microtransit helps people who find it hard to use regular bus services.

Where and when will the pilot program operate?

  • The pilot will run from October 2024 to September 2025 in a zone in southeast Rochester and have five hubs.
  • Users may travel: Inside the microtransit zone.
  • From the microtransit zone to one of five hubs (Cub Foods, RCTC, Mayo High School, Quarry Hill Park or Graham Park).
  • From any of the five hubs back to the microtransit zone.

How does it work?

1. Download the app or call 507-328-2407 to book your ride.

2. Enter your pickup and drop-off locations within the microtransit zone or at one of the five hubs.

3.Select a time. Rides are available Monday to Friday during peak hours (5:30 - 8:30 a.m. & 3:30 - 6 p.m.)

4. Pay $3 per person for a single ride.

5. A low-emission, wheelchair-accessible vehicle will pick you up and take you to your destination.
