Reminder: RPTs Fall Service Changes Go Into Effect on Sunday

November 21, 2025 – ROCHESTER, MN – Rochester Public Transit (RPT)’s fall service changes go into effect on Sunday, November 23. Updated route information and timetables are online at rochestermn.gov and printed schedules are available at various locations around town.

These changes are designed to improve service reliability, system efficiency and rider experience while reducing operating costs and realigning resources to where they are most needed.

Effective November 23:

  • Discontinuation of routes 103, 202, 217 and 309
    • Stops currently served by Routes 103, 202 and 309 will continue to be served by other existing routes.
    • A portion of Route 217 will continue to be served by other existing routes in the system; however, a segment of the service area will no longer have transit service. This area currently sees low ridership, averaging just 20 riders per day.
  • Frequency adjustments on routes 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 102
  • Adjustments on routes 101, 102, 116, 204, 306, 307
  • Name changes of 150x to 150 and 550x to 550
  • Minor timetable adjustments to all routes

These changes are anticipated to reduce annual operating expenses by an estimated $1.3 million, while also improving rider experience. Operating expenses are funded 85% by state support and 15% through local sources such as fare revenue, advertising and sponsorships. No local tax dollars are used to operate RPT.
