City Programming to Continue on Channels 180 and 188
October 30, 2025 – ROCHESTER, MINN. – Spectrum public-access channels 187 and 189, which have carried community and education programming, will end broadcasting after October 31, 2025. This change does not affect access to City Council meetings, which will continue to be available live and recorded on Spectrum channels 180 (SD) and 188 (HD), as well as through the City’s website and YouTube channel.
Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC), which has managed the two education channels for many years, is transitioning away from traditional cable broadcasting to focus on more modern and accessible digital media tools for student learning and community engagement.
Government programming will continue to be available on:
- Spectrum Channel 180 (Standard Definition)
- Spectrum Channel 188 (High Definition)
- City of Rochester website
- YouTube streaming platform
Viewers can find streaming links and meeting schedules on the City of Rochester website.
The City appreciates RCTC’s long partnership in managing education-access programming and supports their efforts to modernize how educational and community content is shared. Rochester residents will continue to have open and reliable access to City meetings and information through multiple platforms.
