Residents Invited to Forum and Discussion on ‘Democracy Innovations for Better Public Meetings’
October 14, 2025 – ROCHESTER, MINN. – The Office of the Mayor and Rochester City Council invite residents to a community forum and roundtable discussion on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Heintz Center (on the Rochester Community and Technical College campus).
The event will provide residents the opportunity to learn more about the Democracy Innovations for Better Public Meetings project and provide feedback. This project is designed to make public meetings more engaging while strengthening connections between community members and local government.
Why it Matters
Public meetings are essential to local democracy, yet they don’t always reflect the full diversity of the community or encourage meaningful participation. This initiative is a chance for residents to directly influence how Rochester conducts its public meetings and ensure that they are more accessible, transparent and inclusive.
The event is free and open to the public. A light meal will be available so RSVPs are appreciated to assist with the food count.
