Quack at a duck during Summer Playlist 2025 from Rochester Public Library
June 2, 2025 – ROCHESTER, MINN. - Rochester Public Library (RPL) invites kids, teens, and adults to read and explore this summer with the Summer Playlist summer reading and activities program June 1-August 31.
“This year Summer Playlist is focused on appreciating the beauty that can be found in nature, getting in reading time, and having fun,” says Heather Acerro, Head of Youth Services at RPL. “Summer Playlist is designed to be inclusive of all ages as you can design a summer reading program that works best with your needs and abilities. We welcome everyone to make this program fit within their interests, but we also encourage you to try a few new things – when was the last time you quacked at a duck?”
Summer Playlist started Sunday, June 1. Participants can find activity playlists in six languages through August 31, at the following locations:
- Downtown building, anytime the library is open
- On the Bookmobile
- At the BookBox at Fire Station 4
- On the Library’s website
Once participants have their playlist, they can color in the lily pads and flowers as they complete various activities such as reading, watching the clouds, playing board games, or visiting the bookmobile. After everything is colored in, the completed playlist should be returned to the Library or the Bookmobile. Those who finish this year’s program by 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, will receive a beautiful orange 2025 Summer Playlist bookbag featuring local flora and fauna.
