Free Tree Program

The City of Rochester's Park & Forestry Team helps Rochester residents receive free trees for their properties. Certain properties within the city qualify for federal grant funding provided by the Inflation Reduction Act and US Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Urban and Community Forestry Program.

Priority for free trees goes to under-served areas as identified by the Environmental Justice Screening tool.

Tree Benefits include:

  • Provide protection from sun & cool urban environments
  • Help homes conserve energy year-round
  • Increase property values
  • Help make Rochester more resilient to climate change efforts

The City of Rochester is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

If you believe your property qualifies for free trees through this program, apply online: Private Property Tree Request.
